When Helical Piers are used in foundation repairs

We know what signs to look for to determine if our foundation might be damaged, but what causes this damage?  Dry and / or wet conditions and decomposing organic material can cause soil to settle, which leads to cracks in a structure.

We use Helical Piles to stabilize moved walls and restore foundations to stable positions which helps to permanently secure them in place again.

How do the Helical Piles work?  Helical Piles are augured through the soils down into the solid strata below.  Then galvanized permanent brackets are attached to the concrete foundation at intervals in the damaged area.  The structural Engineer in charge of the repairs will determine where they will be placed and in most cases will have a detailed repair plan for the foundation company to follow.  Then a jack lifts the foundation to the required position.  It is then firmly bolted to the bracket which permanently transfers the structures load to stable strata.
